Confined Space Rescue (Refresher)
This course is designed for experienced personnel employed in operational roles entering and working in confined spaces and undertaking confined space rescue whilst wearing a breathing apparatus. Students must hold ALL of the following Units of Competency to be eligible for this refresher course.

MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit 3 years
MSMPER300 Issue work permits 3 years

MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus 3 years
MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis
(Note: MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis is a prerequisite to the unit MMSPER300 Issue work permits)

Course Description
This course is designed for experienced personnel employed in operational roles entering and working in confined spaces and undertaking confined space rescue whilst wearing a breathing apparatus.

  • MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit
  • MSMPER300 Issue work permits

  • MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
  • MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus
  • PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue
  • MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis

Entry Requirements
To be accepted into the program, applicants must provide evidence of successfully completing the current units of competency outlined above, in the last three (3) years. Evidence must be in the form of a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment. 

Physical Requirements
Students must have the physical ability to complete the practical aspects of entering and working in confined spaces and associated tasks. Tasks may include but not limited to, climbing ladders whilst maintaining three (3) points of contact, being suspended in a full body harness, crawling through a confined space wearing a breathing apparatus under simulated rescue conditions.

One day (approximately 8 hours). Start time is 7.30am – finish time is 3.30pm

Prerequisites
MSMWHS201 Conduct Hazard analysis is a pre-requisite unit to MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits

Language Literacy and Numeracy
Due to previous successful completion of all units of competency offered in this program, completing a language literacy and numeracy assessment is optional. If you feel you would benefit from undertaking the LLN assessment before making a commitment to enrol, please contact the Training Coordinator on 1300 MAXWEL (1300 629 935) 

Delivery Method
This course is delivered entirely face to face with a combination of theoretical and practical components.

Assessment Process
Assessment methods include:
Knowledge questions
Practical demonstration in a simulated environment
Completion of various workplace forms and documents

Award
Upon successful completion, students will be awarded with a nationally recognised statement of attainment from Maxwell Training Pty Ltd.
