Verification of Competency (VOC)
Ensure your workers are competent, compliant, and ready for the job.
Our Verification of Competency (VOC) is a formal assessment process used to confirm that workers can safely perform specific tasks and operate equipment in line with workplace and legislative requirements. This is not a training course – it is an assessment of existing knowledge, skills and experience.
VOC assessments are ideal for employers who need to validate a worker’s capability before they commence work, return to site, or transition into a new role or environment.
What does a VOC involve?
Each VOC is tailored to the task or plant being assessed and typically includes:
- A theory assessment to confirm underpinning knowledge
- A practical assessment to demonstrate safe operation and task competency
- Verification of relevant licences, tickets, or prior experience
Why choose a VOC?
- Confirms workers are competent for site-specific requirements
- Supports WHS compliance and due diligence obligations
- Reduces risk by identifying gaps in knowledge or performance
- Provides documented evidence of competency
If a worker is unable to demonstrate competency, we can recommend suitable training pathways to help them meet the required standard.
Available now for a wide range of plant, equipment and high-risk activities including Forklift, EWP, Excavator, Front End Loader, Telehandler and more.
